Staff

Leadership at Invercargill Central Baptist Church is provided by elders, pastoral staff and ministry team leaders.

The elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight of the church. They are appointed by the church members every two years.

The Pastors are the ministry team leaders and are responsible for day to day management of ministries and leadership of the ministry teams.

Derrick Hills

Derrick is married to Jill, and they have four adult offspring (Campbell, married to Chloe, Nathan, Gabrielle and Charlotte). Derrick’s interests revolve around seeing people grow in Christ, Christian community, and his own personal theological reflection (still studying after all these years). He enjoys family times, reading, producing firewood, and tramping.

Shelley joined us from Christchurch where she attended Parklands Baptist Church.  As our administrator she is responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, home renovation and being part of whatever adventure her four grandchildren are planning next.
